Rebel Wilson says on-screen lesbian kiss ‘opened her heart’ to dating women

Music
Hollywood star Rebel Wilson confessed that her on-screen kiss with co-star Charlotte Gainsbourg sparked a sexual awakening within her.
The Australian actress admitted that she felt nervous before filming the scene where she passionately kisses Charlotte in her latest movie The Almond and the Seahorse.
The movie is Rebel’s first drama-based role, where she plays an archaeologist who is left to deal with her husband’s traumatic brain injury, which eventually leads her to start having a scandalous affair.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Rebel said: “I’d never kissed a woman before so I was thinking, ‘Oh God, how’s that going to go?”

She went on to add that her kiss during filming led to her ultimately kissing a woman in her real life.
“I had kind of had a situation with a woman before, not a sexual relationship and we hadn’t kissed or anything,” she said. “But then the kiss with Charlotte came up. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal or anything.”
Rebel continued: “Then, weirdly through kissing her in my professional life I thought, well, maybe I should do that for real in my personal life and see how it goes, which I did”.

She explained that if the on-screen kiss hadn’t happened, she may not have “ever met” her first ever girlfriend Ramona Agurma who’s she’s currently in a relationship with.
“Having those experiences opened my heart up to it as a possibility. I’m grateful for those two experiences, it changed my love life completely. It’s such an awesome thing” Rebel revealed.

The Almond and the Seahorse was filmed in 2021 and later that year she met Ramona.
Rebel announced her romance with her new girlfriend in an Instagram post of the couple cosying up to one another earlier this year.
It was later sadly revealed that Rebel had been rushed to go public with her relationship and her sexuality in order to get ahead of a story from the Sydney Morning Herald, a paper which had threatened to ‘out’ her.

Elvis Presley famously dated many women over the years and one of his first girlfriends during the mid-1950s was 15-year-old Dixie Locke. The couple met each other at a church function in Memphis, Tennessee before he shot to fame and she remembers a handsome and very shy boy. The picture of them together here is from her junior prom on May 6, 1955.
Appearing on Channel 5’s documentary Elvis: The Man Who Shook Up The World, Dixie shared memories of the young King before he skyrocketed to global stardom.
She said: “He was very shy about meeting new people and even in our Sunday school class he didn’t make a whole lot of friends at that time. But, of course, all the girls were just goo goo over him, so the girls went up to him and spoke to him. He kinda loosened up a little after that, but he was so shy when we first met.”
Nevertheless, The King’s early girlfriend could tell he was destined for greatness.

Dixie, who was played by Natasha Bassett in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis movie, continued: “He had such a God-given talent to sing. He had the most beautiful singing voice. And he felt truly that The Lord had given him that talent and that he was going to do something with it one day.”
Even though he was very talented, the young King really struggled with his shyness, even performing with the lights off at family gatherings when he was young. Incredibly, he finished far from first place when had his first singing competition.

A ten-year-old Elvis Presley took part in a singing contest at the Mississippi-Alabama fair and Dairy Show in Tupelo in 1945. The future King of Rock and Roll dressed up as a cowboy and stood on a chair so that he could reach the microphone.  There, Elvis sang a rendition of Old Shep by Red Foley and Arthur Willis about a dog called Foley. Although he only came fifth place, he won $5 and a free ticket for fairground rides.
Some nine years later on October 2, 1954, Elvis had a chance to sing at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. However, his performance did not go down so well there either.

As a result, the Opry’s talent director Jim Denny took a big swipe at the future King. The country music pioneer responded to the 19-year-old: “You ain’t going nowhere son. You ought to go back to driving a truck.”
Of course, Elvis had the last laugh by becoming the most successful solo artist in the history of music.

But after finding out she is free of the disease she’s revealed she is “thankful” for her life and is now undergoing some final treatment as she returns to work.
Speaking to OK! Magazine Samantha has revealed she’s feeling “a lot better” than she was as she continues the preventative treatment.

She told the publication that her treatment is ongoing for breast cancer as she said it was “quite difficult to recover from” and said her first round of chemotherapy was “pretty hardcore”.
Samantha added that the turnaround for her diagnosis was “quite quick” following her decision to have an ultrasound as a precaution.
The blonde actress has shared her update in a recent video with OK! Magazine where she talked about her life alongside her health update.

It comes just weeks after she appeared on This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to share details on her diagnosis.
She appeared on the ITV morning show last month and praised Holly and Phil for supporting her in the interview, writing: “No two people I’d rather do a personal interview with…
“Kind, sensitive and always respectful in difficult interviews. Thank you for letting me share my story of breast cancer.”
Since her diagnosis Samantha has been supported by her fans for opening up about the challenging time she’s faced.

At the time she was praised for her “amazing and honest” interview by her fans as one user gushed over her “positive outlook”, while another encouraged her that she “will beat this”.
She told the hosts when she was on the show: “I was lucky, it was less than two centimetres, I had a lumpectomy, which is just a piece of tissue removed and five lymph nodes.”
The star added: “It’s terrifying at the beginning but if there was ever a time to have it, there are so many new treatments now that are changing the face of cancer, it’s amazing.”

Queen Consort Camilla befriends drag queen Baga Chipz after meeting at bash

Music
Queen Consort Camilla has become pals with drag queen Baga Chipz.
They met at a birthday bash for writer Gyles Brandreth last year and had a giggle.
Baga told me: “I met Camilla and we had a few drinks together. She is lovely.

“It wasn’t surreal at all. Camilla was more starstruck meeting me. She was saying, ‘Oh Baga! You look gorgeous.’
“We’re close now. Bring on the damehood!”
Baga joked she is a fan of Camilla despite claims she had an affair with Prince Charles while he was still married to Diana.

She said: “I can’t judge people. I’ve been with more married men than Liz Taylor. She’s a girl like me. She gets all the men. Keep your boyfriends away!”
It comes after it was announced that Baga will play Margaret Thatcher in Channel 4’s Prince Andrew: The Musical.
It won’t be the queen’s first stint as the Iron Lady, as Baga gave a memorable impersonation of her during the Snatch Game round of the BBC series in 2019.

Now, she will star alongside comedian Harry Enfield, who plays another former PM, Tony Blair, in a musical version of the life story of Prince Andrew.
Songs include: I Nailed It – “a high-octane duet set in the aftermath of the Duke’s Newsnight interview” according to producers.
Former Newsnight host Emily Maitlis – whose famous grilling of the royal produced his claims he cannot sweat and once ventured into Woking’s Pizza Express – is played by Emma Sidi.

The internet’s favourite comedian Munya Chawawa portrays Prince Charles and reflects on royal scandals in his solo performance of Obey, while Jenny Bede is Sarah Ferguson and sings a duet titled Will You Be My Ex-Wife.
The play’s creator Kieran Hodgson plays Prince Andrew, and sings a “rip roaring” finale song You’re Always Gonna Need an Andrew.
“The story of Prince Andrew is tragedy and farce rolled into one, so why not add ‘musical’ for good measure?” Kieran said about his latest project.
“Some might find the prospect of writing and performing their first TV musical a tad daunting. Not me. I found it completely terrifying.”
